Worn Out, Worn Thin… Still Mom

Worn Out, Worn Thin… Still Mom

You know that moment when you feel all the way used up. You have fought the battles of kids saying, “But I don’t want to”, knowing that the choice of staying out with the family to late at night has thrown off everyone’s schedule and you feel you are paying the price.

Being tired makes everyone in the family grumpy. Being off schedule means readjusting when others don’t want to readjust. Being a mom you try so desperately to take up the slack, fix everything. Sometimes it just can’t be fixed.

Where are my favorite shoes?

I forgot to do my homework.

The dog just threw up on my sweater.

I can’t pick up the kids today; can you do that for me please?

Waking up in the middle of the night to comfort a troubled heart.

When the perfect storm hits all at once you are ready to turn in your “mom badge.” You never would! You shine up your badge and wear it with heart-felt thankfulness, sometimes even through tears!
